A long time ago in a coffeehouse far, far away, I was visiting with a friend about her incredible transformation. Once she started talking about it, she never stopped. She loved the program. It was “FXB this, FXB that,” and I thought that maybe this was something I needed. Several lattes later, I joined Farrell’s, and I’m as addicted to it as I am to American Idol (shhh, don’t tell anyone!)

At the time, I was terribly bored by the treadmill and dreaded the stair climber leading to nowhere. I needed a change in my workout routine, and while I road bike in the summer and chase after two kids and two giant dogs, I needed more consistency and I needed a bigger challenge. FXB gives me both. I compete against myself every day and every day I hit new highs. There's an old Japanese proverb that says, “The biggest room in the world is the room for improvement,” and I couldn’t agree more. When you look forward to your workout, there’s nothing you can’t do!

I have always been a very active individual, playing sports up through high school and running/working out every day in college. After graduating from college and finding a full-time career, my active lifestyle came to a screeching halt, and I could feel my energy level drop tremendously. When I heard about the FXB program, I hoped this would be a start to me getting back into shape and hopefully getting the muscle strength I had always wanted. I joined the FXB program in April 2008 and I could not believe how my body and mind had changed in just 10 weeks, and both continue to change through the FXB maintenance program. I can definitely say this program has helped my strength and stamina as well as my mind and spirit.

Now, as an instructor, I find it remarkable to help others like myself meet their goals and see their transformation, and help them become addicted to it just like me! Be ready for an EXTREME workout!

Growing up, I was the self-proclaimed "chubby but athletic girl". In high school, I was a four-sport athlete and thought because of this, I could eat whatever I wanted. When college came, my weight would yo-yo by as much as 40 pounds. Finally, in September 2008, I realized what I was putting myself through was not healthy physically or emotionally, so I joined Farrell's.

During my 10 Week session I had great results; I lost 29 pounds, more than 20 inches, and over 6 percent body fat. More importantly, I learned nutrition and exercise routines that are realistic to maintain. Farrell's is an amazing program, and I would recommend it to anyone, no matter your goals or your current fitness level. Give it a shot. The instructors, coaches, and fit members will push you towards your goals, whatever they may be!

Farrell’s is hands down, the single best thing I have ever done for myself. When I signed up, I wasn’t sure I could make it through one class let alone 10 weeks, but I made a promise to myself to finish the program and a personal challenge of never missing a day. Being a busy mom of three, this was no small task. There is always a reason to skip “just one class” or excuses not to work at a level 10 every time. I finished those 10 weeks with amazing results. I lost over 4% of my body fat and 14 total inches, took 4 minutes off my mile run, and went from being able to do 14 push ups to 75. The results were amazing. Show up, work hard, eat right…it’s just that simple.

I am blessed to be a part of a team that genuinely wants to see each other succeed. It is an environment of high-fives, where members take time out of their workout to help you, where instructors encourage as much as they challenge, where you leave the mat feeling like you can take on anything. The transformation has been life changing and for the first time in a very long time, I feel like the person you see on the outside finally matches the person I am on the inside.

I have been working full-time and have been a full-time student for the past four years. This means that my schedule hasn’t really allowed for anything other than a whole lot of sitting around. During my winter break, I realized that I had been so focused on developing my mind that I haven’t paid much attention to my physical appearance. I kept hearing FXB advertisements on the radio and everyone I asked had nothing but positive things to say about the program. So, in January 2011, I took the plunge!

My first 10 weeks were nothing short of amazing. Through hard work, dedication to the nutrition, and perfect attendance I was able to lose 18 pounds and 17 inches. You get out of this program what you put into it. I knew immediately that this was just what I needed to help me accomplish my fitness goals. The staff at Boyson Road are incredible, and will do everything they can to help, motivate, and encourage you as work towards your own unique fitness goals.

I joined Farrell’s in September 2010 after a friend of mine asked me to take the 10 Week session with her. I finally said yes, however I was certain that I would complete the 10 weeks and then return to working out on my own. When I completed my 5 week testing I was addicted. I enjoy the variety of classes and instructors, and the social interaction that my home gym could not provide.

I have always been athletic and tried to stay fit on my own, but it was a challenge to stay on track, being a full-time working mother of three. The last several years I struggled with losing the weight I had gained that comes with age, a sedentary lifestyle and the third child. I can truly say that I feel great! I am happier, less stressed, and healthier than I have been in years. I look forward to motivating others on their journey to fitness, strength and happiness.
